Technology in Distance Education (OMDE 603)
Theory is very important in the development of new programs and operations for learning, not just distance learning, but in the practice of any type of learning situation. Theory has been important in the study and the integration of technology in online-based learning, providing mechanisms to communicate and interact on many levels in a virtual learning environment. The four main elements that I have learned are needed in a distance-learning environment are the teacher, many students or a student, a mode for communicating, and course materials. This course has continuously identified, in each generation of learning, regardless of the media used for delivery or interacting, a communication system and a structure to deliver that communication, the artifact below is a comparison of learning/ course management systems utilized in distance education.
